Under the supervision of the REACH Data Analyst, the REACH Web Developer will support development of web-based applications for online platform in cooperation with REACH team in country and in Geneva. He/she will work on technical solutions for information management and data visualization.
FUNCTIONS
1. Web Development activities:
The REACH Web Developer will be responsible for:
- Proposing, developing and implementing technical solutions for interactive data driven applications and web maps
- Supporting the visualization of data via development of interactive dashboards;
- Supporting the development of information management procedures.
2. Internal Communication Processes
The REACH Web Developer will work closely with REACH Data Analyst in country and IMPACT in Geneva to guarantee a quality product that suits the needs of the field office when required.
3. Confidentiality and Data Protection
The REACH Web Developer will maintain the strictest confidentiality of data and processes. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of information and data
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Fluency in Russian and English;
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant discipline;
- Experience in development of web applications using following technologies:
- o HTML/CSS (Bootstrap or other commonly used front-end framework)
- o Strong knowledge of JavaScript is required (jQuery or pure JS)
- o Knowledge of data visualization libraries (e. g. d3.js, dc.js, crossfilter.js) is a strong asset
- o Knowledge of Leaflet.js, Mapbox or other web-map libraries is a strong asset
- o Experience with back-end development (Python/Django or other back-end technologies)
- o Experience with JavaScript-frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS) is a strong asset
- o Understanding of RESTful architectural style is an asset;
- Experience in database management with common RDBMS (such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) is an asset;
- Ability to think creatively in terms of tool and process development;
- Ability to work independently;
- Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing needs and responsibilities;
- Basic knowledge of mapping tools is an asset;
- Familiarity with the aid system and experience in humanitarian is an asset.
